Azureus Does anyone use this? I downloaded it because I got ticked off at Morpheus, but every time I open it it says that Azureus did not shutdown tidily. I don't understand what's going on. It's been saying that since I downloaded it and each time it closes itself. I've never shut it down.

Probably because you're turning your computer off without actually shutting down Azureus. When you hit the X to close it, depending on your setup it might minimize to your system tray. If it does then right click on it, and hit quit/exit whichever it is.
Otherwise if you're not shutting it down before you turn your computer off then make sure you shut it down before turning your computer off.

I haven't shut it or the computer down since I downloaded it a few days ago. I haven't even had the chance to close the program yet. It keeps doing it on its own.

"Azureus did not shutdown tidily" pretty much means a crash. Check to make sure you're running the lastest version of Java. It should be version 1.5.0_06.

I have the 1.3.1_04 .

That could be a reason. It's best to eliminate the easy stuff then move onto more advanced stuff. I would remove it, and install the lastest addition.

Turns out that I did have the current one after all. I've tried the wiki thing to find an answer but nothing. I even uninstalled and reinstalled, and I get the same problem.

I can't do much more without looking at it myself. I guess next time I'm over for a meet or something I can look at it then.
One last thing just in case. Azureus stores your information in a personal folder that is located in:
C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Azureus
That username should be your name or whatever your users name is on that computer. Example:
C:\Documents and Settings\BodyOrgan\Application Data\Azureus
The folder is hidden so you'll need to view hidden files to see it, and you can try deleting it and then starting Azureus to see if it fixes the problem. Just remember though that if you delete that folder your personal settings that you have setup will be gone, so you'll have to reset them.

I uninstalled it and decided to keep Morphues... though right now it's not wanting to shut down for some odd reason... <_< God I just can't win.

Even if you uninstall Azureus that folder will still be on your hard drive. So if you try to install it later you'll end up with the same problems. I would simply show hidden files, find the folder, and delete it. It would probably solve your problems.

Also, remember to remove what ever is left on the registry. I often find things to work alot better once things in the registry and the hidden files that it leaves behind are removed.

I don't think she needs to worry about the registry. Besides it's not for the faint hearted. If she were to delete the wrong thing in the registry, then she could bork her whole system.

yeah... we don't want to bork my whole system.
