Elfen Lied
Okay, anyone here seen ELfen Lied? Short and Sweet, probobly my favorite anime, next to Claymore and Death Note. But here was the problem, the anime was too short, and the english dub SUCKED. 4kids could have done a better dub. The japanese dub was way better, if you disagree, go ahead and give me your thoughts. Also, the manga was 10 times better. (Read every issue)

We watched it at the anime meetings. Wicked cool. Nice and bloody. The 13th bonus ep, or whatever it was... WTF. I watched it in English Dub and enjoyed it.

Yeah, this is one of those better anime's out there. Really good stuff. I can't compare against Manga as I don't usually read it.

First, on the English Dub, you sir need to watch Urusei Yatsura. After a couple dozen episodes you wonder just why you even bother to watch some things in English. It is not like I am saying "GO JAP! IT TEH L33T!!!" It is just that you get so use to hearing the Japanese that it just becomes a part of you (shorta like how you learn to type). Also, the manga is real nice. What is funny is that I saw the anime before reading the manga. While watching the anime I thought "Gez, this anime is a real downer. Feel like I am reading a book by Terry Brooks or the Watchmen! How can this get worse?" Then go to the manga. "Oh, this is how it gets worse.....lets watch some Looney Tunes instead." I remember when watching the anime I had to claw at my eyes to keep them open at the part with the dog. It was something I didn't want to watch, but I had to because it is important. We watched that anime at the club. We had some real religious people in there watching it with us at the time. I had a hard time keeping a straight face when I saw how offended they were.

I bought the boxset earlier in the year when Best Buy was dumping it. :D Awesome series, and the music just set the mood for the whole blood soaked tradgedy. As for the whole religious take of the series, I'm a Christian and I don't have a problem with it. I accept anime for what it is. To me it's an incredible storytelling art form that I just soak up like a sponge. I've even recommended this series to other people I know, most of whom are also Christians. Back on the subject of religion and anime. Yes, I have seen two anime's, both OVA's, that I did find offensive. But, only because they were so pointedly doing there best to be sacreligious. Should note that both series turned out to be of the Hentai variety and most likely would offend even non-religous people in some way or another. Two titles were Sins of the Sisters (Futa) and Angel Sanctuary (Incest). Wouldn't recommend either of those titles to anyone, and not just because of the religious aspects thing, but because they were just so outright boring! *Ahem* Just so no one gets the wrong idea about me, I didn't go out of my way to buy either of those titles. Picked them both up on the cheap used at GameStop some months back.
