Will someone please put the series in order for me.

Will Do! .hack//Sign (TV 26 eps) .hack//Intermezzo (alt title episode 27) (OAV) .hack//Unison (alt title episode 28) (OAV) .hack//Liminality (OAV 4 eps, released with the video games) .hack//Legend of the Twighlight Bracelet (TV 12 eps) .hack//Roots (TV 26 eps - new currently running) .hack//Gift (OAV side story) That should be the correct order; since it runs con-currently with the video games, it gets a bit confusing. Another series like this is Sakura Wars. Both of these anime assume that you have also played the video games.... (Unison is episode 28; don't know why it wants to print that stupid smiley!)

Crap... I'm missing like... five of those... o_O I've got Sign and twighlight.

Wait what is OVA again?

OVA = Original Video Animation .hack//SIGN, .hack//Liminality, and the four games (.hack//INFECTION, .hack//MUTATION, .hack//OUTBREAK, and .hack//QUARANTINE) are all taking place during the same time span and collectively contribute different aspects of the same story. The 28th episode of .hack//sign is the conclusion to this story arc. .hackLegend of the Twilight is the black sheep of the .hack universe. You can safely disregard that it exists and not be disappointed. Though, if you do watch it it's safe to say you will be disappointed by it. Have yet to see or play any of the new stuff, but I'm of the understanding that the three newest .hack video games coincide with the .hack//ROOTS series. And Sakura Wars is an awesome game series... even if I can't understand a word they're saying. The anime TV series is only okay, fails to be consistent with the games. The OVA series, however, seems to be in line with the storyline of the games.

What about the novels and manga?

:? ..... Novels and manga... hmm, well. Not a clue really, just kind of assumed they were the book form of the anime.
