Hello! Hello. :) I'm sessystalker, aaaand I kinda stumbled onto this forum while trying to look up NASHI on the USC website. I work at USC, so it piqued my interest to know that there was an anime club and convention held at the school.
So, um, a little bit about me...I'm 20 years old, I live in Lexington, and I've had an interest in anime since middle school. My first obsession was, of course, Pokemon, which then developed towards Tenchi Muyo!, Rurouni Kenshin, then Inuyasha over the years. Then I slowly migrated from anime into the video game series of Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts, which are my current obsessions right now. My favorite anime now is Death Note. ^^
I love to draw, listen to rock music, and IM roleplay with my friends in my spare time. I've attended two conventions, one of which my friends and I plan on making a yearly tradition. I'm also developing an interest in cosplaying.
I think that's about it! My main purpose of joining was to meet fellow anime/game fans from South Carolina! :)

Hi Sessystalker! Awesome to have another drawer! Yay!
I'm also new to this group. As for the Pokemon thing... yeah, totally with you there... =) I'm also getting into RPG games, and totally love kingdom hearts... i plan to invest in a Final Fantasy soon, but don't know which number to get first.
Welcome!

Thank you! ^_^
Ah, the good ol' days of trying to recite all 150 original Pokemon. XD Hm, if you plan on getting a Final Fantasy, my suggestion would be seven. FFVII, imho, is the best game I ever played. My opinion is in a slight way biased, tho, because it's also the only Final Fantasy I've played, aside from its spinoffs. ^_^; I do, however, own X and want to someday play VIII because of all the good things I've heard about them. I plan on getting a PS3 when the FFXIII series comes out, too. :)

Man.. I started playing Final Fantasy when it first came out for the NES many moons ago, lol. Hehe.. I used to watch Pokemon many moons ago.. lol.
Man, I haven't done IM roleplaying in ages! All my good partners ran off on me... they "got a life" *gasp*.

GREETINGS!! And Welcome to the NHK... no wait that’s not right...
Oh well and anyway on to the matter at hand I am a HUGE FF fan so lets start from the beginning..
FF1: make sure to play it since it started it all but try and get your hands on either the PSP or GBA version since the battle sequences in the original take FOREVER, (no lie they do)
FF2: Skip it... its okay but not a masterpiece imo
FF3, FF4, FF5: these are good but not a starting point or major priority
FF6: PLAY IT! The story is absolutely fantastic and moogles are so darn cute... Get the GBA version
FF7: what can I say... GREATEST GAME EVER MADE! and at least 70 hours of fun if you strive for 100% completion
FF8: Im not a fan but it was well received I think the story is ok and the battle system needed some tweaks... if you play this one I suggest cheating and playing it through for the story
FF9: I like it more than most I think it’s a good story and brought the game play back to its expected standards
FF10: my 3rd fav FF thus far and a Must Buy!
FF11: only if you’re willing to devote your life to it and you have a group of friends who also never leave their PC (this one ate a year of my life)
FF12: What can I say... it’s like an MMORPG without the MMO.... its ok but unless you enjoy doing lots of pointless missions that have nothing to do with the story line then.......
FF Tactics: BUY THIS TODAY.... and get for the PSP this game is outstanding a true -*test*-('")ament to strategic gaming I absolutely LOVED the War Of The Lions version of this game do not, I repeat, DO NOT get the ps1 or gba version of this game Dark Knight totally owns and is well worth the effort. This game is easily 100+ hours of fun on the go!
FFX-2: Square Enix should be ashamed of themselves
Crystal Chronicles: these are ok but really lack in the strategy and storyline aspects

Thanks for the info... however all the systems i own are gameboy advance, gamecube, and a playstation 2... does that matter? 0_o

FFI-IX were made for one of the Nintendo systems (I'm not familiar with Nintendo's systems) and the PS1, and a couple were remade for newer systems. FFX, X-2, and XII are for the PS2, and XI is an online game. I know VII, VIII, and IX you should be able to play on the PS2 for them being PS1 games, it's just a matter of finding a copy. XD
And thanks for the info, Mechpics! I forgot that I had FF Tactics: WotL for the PSP also, but my friend took that a long time ago and forgot to give it back before I had a chance to play it. T.T

I actually really enjoyed playing FF2 for the GBA. More so then FFI. Luckily if you get the GBA version it is FFI and FF2 together for one low price. I think you can get it for $20, maybe less.
I'm currently playing the Nintendo DS FFIII right now, and it's quite enjoyable, and I've already put over 40+ hours into it. It only took me around 20 hours to beat FFI, and FFII, so FFIII is really kicking my butt. I think it's mainly because they changed the battle/job system to something I'm not familiar with.
I can't comment on FFIV OR FFV yet, because I haven't played them, but FFVI, and FFVII are great. Right now I'm playing them in chronological order just because.

Final Fantasy 3 for SNES (actually it's FF6), FF8, and FF12 I found to all be enjoyable. FF8 is my favorite of the bunch.
Tried to get into FF7, simply because it came so heavily recommended, but I found myself not really liking the main characters at all. Even used cheats to plow through the first disc and a good way through the second disk, all in the course of a single afternoon. It simply never appealed to me.
FF8, on the other hand, was the only reason I ever bought a PS1. A relative owned a copy of the game and let me play it once and I was hooked.

Fellow Kingdom Hearts fan, welcome! =D I take it you like Demyx? Zexion is my personal favorite, and cosplay of choice. x3
My favorite Final Fantasy games would be IX (first one I played and beat, I just love it and it deserves to get more recognition!), and the ever-popular VII. I also like VIII a lot but I only got partway into disc 2. I really need to get back to that. XD

FF3 is the first use of the job class system and is sort of the basis for tactics and FF11! i like it well enough but Tactics realy takes the Job system to the next level!
I also forgot to mention Crisis Core but until you have played VII there realy is no point. even though its a prequel i just dont see it being worth while till youve played FFVII. Be warned the ending of FFVII: CC is VERY sad.
AND as a side note i have completed KH 1 and 2 and found them both to be enjoyable as well.

I didn't care for FF8 very much and didn't finish it. It was more a movie than a game.

YES~! I love Demyx! :D I will be cosplaying him along with my Xemnas and Saix. We plan on raiding Finlay Park on Halloween for Saix's birthday. XD
