Hikaru no Go
I became interested in Hikaru no Go quite some time ago. So much so, I bought a book on how to play go. But it's no fun when you don't have someone to learn with. It comes with a little board and game pieces. Anyway, I downloaded the scanlated manga. I so loved this story. As it progesses you get to see Hikaru grow, in more ways than one. My favorite character is Sai. If I had actually paid more attention to the side panels when they wrote down notes and tips for playing Go, I might know more now than I do. Oh well. I downloaded the complete series, but I haven't as of yet watched it. Can't wait though.

I love that series too ^^ Its about the only series I read in Shonen Jump at this point. I used to read all the stories but I missed a volume and some of those stories are hard to follow (Hikaru wasn't one of them thank Kami-sama) and other are being air on CN and have gotten far ahead of the graphic novel kin. ( I can read a show before I watch it but its more difficult for me to turn around and read it after seeing it) Isn't Sai ADORABLE?! I love it when he gets upset and pitches a small fit like when Hikaru refuses to go somewhere Sai wants to. And the little heart that appear when he gets his way! *thinks about glomping sai* ^^ He's as cute as- well- as a rabbit! ^^

Someone told me the Hikaru no Go sucks big time!! it it true? I used to watch anime and read manga based on peoples or website recommendations. Nowadays I just dive in and grab stuff. On the surface of it you'd think a 6th grader, with an attached ghost, playing board games........would seem like the stupidest plot in the history of bad plots. However, Hikaru no Go was surprisingly good, though I haven't watched the entire series. My daughter is way more up to speed with it. Everyone seems to have their own "kink" when it comes to anime and manga, so I always encourage people to try everything they can. It's the easiest way to figure out if something sucks or not. My "kink" seems to be ....well....I'm still trying to figure that one out. After watching Potemayo, Kite, and Kodomo no Jikan recently, I think I'm really just majorly f*cked up! :P
