I've seen all of X TV, and X 1999 the Movie, could you tell me a little bit about the manga? Does it follow the anime or rather did the anime follow it, and does it continue the story with something new, etc...???
Tsunade-Hime- 03-27-2006
The X manga and the TV series are fairly close; there are a few minor differences. The ending of the TV series however, may differ from the manga ending. I believe there are 18 volumes of the manga out both here and Japan; it is currently on hiatus while Clamp is looking for a new manga magazine to continue the story in. It's still an ongoing project with the ladies of Clamp.
The movie has very little to do with the actual story; it is a very beautiful movie though.
I've been following the manga since the early days when Viz put it in Animerica. If you liked the anime, then by all means read the manga so that you can pick up the stuff that was left out.

I loved the anime and the manga. I haven't gotten all of the manga yet because I had to stop buying while I was in school.. but in a month I'll be able to buy again!

You should also pick up Watase-sensei's "Genbu Kaiden" manga. It's actually the start of the whole Fushigi Yuugi story. Three volumes are out so far here and in Japan (it's an almost simultaneous release).

yakitake japan is a funny manga however, I am not sure about the anime itself I watched a couple of the episodes and they did not give that wonderful fufilling feeling of a anime conversion well done.
Andromeda- 05-23-2006
I don't know. I haven't seen any of the eps... even though I have them all.. until this past weekend. I found it to be hilarious and nothing I have to think about. Just good for laughs.
