Never bought so much in one day. As most people know, i don't usually buy Anime by the bundle, but i think i wen't a bit Overboard on Saturday at Suncoast. The store has about 3 more weeks before it's final Closing, and i bought Cromartie high volume 1 with the Art box, and the Volume 1 manga, Tenchi Muyo GXP Police Diary 2, Comic Party volume 1 with the art box, and Gantz volume 1 with the art box. A total of 61 bucks went into those. Now i got to find a place where to get more Anime to fill these boxes up, and i need some local stores, cuz i don't really want to deal with Shipping costs, so does anyone have any suggestions that does not include online stores, or downloading torrents? Also, has anyone shopped at Animecornerstore.com? I want to know how reliable they are.

Animecornerstore.com: I have bought from them twice now, have not had any issues that I can recall but it was last year around this time when I did.
If ordering online I tend to buy from hoaoulet.com I have ordered over $200 worth of stuff since january alone, always promt, polite and a pleasure to deal with.

Yeah, i'm starting to get into animecornerstore since i can't find any actual stores near by that sell Anime. I kinda hope one opens up soon, since Suncoast is closing down, and their "Going out of business" sale is making all their Anime sell like crazy, to the point where there isn't much left, or worth looking at. But damn, i hate shipping costs. Also, if i recall, isn't hoanime.com a store that doesn't sell Anime, but rather Anime related stuff? Although that does solve my issue about where to get a good cat plushie for someone.

You could always go to RightStuf.com. I hae one of their Got Anime memberships which saves only 10%, but it covers what you would pay in shipping and then some. I've never had a problem with them. And if you buy $100 worth of stuff, the shipping is free.... I did that once.. <_<
Zero0079- 04-07-2006
Wait, they have a membership club that covers shipping? Does it cost to join? Anyway, i've seen Anime Cornerstore having better prices, but the shipping is 5 bucks or more. And that's one thing i really hate paying, since sometimes some online stores tend to inflate the prices, so they'd be making money as well, and not all of it goes to shipping.

I didn't say it covers shipping. Got Anime is a membership discount of 10% of your purchases, except for way cheap marked down stuff. With the 10% off, it's like saving on shipping. If you lookat an item at Rightstuff, it will have two prices. Regular price and membership price.
Zero0079- 04-07-2006
Oh i see what you're saying. I'll consider getting a membership for a short while. But i also see Anime cornerstore's prices to be a bit cheaper than right stuf, so how are right stuf able to compete with Anime Cornerstore? Or am i missing something?

You must be missing something, because Right Stuf has been around for ages. They also run really great deals from time to time. Sign up for their mailing list.

I'm talking about with the competition they'd get from Anime Cornerstore. You don't need to pay in order to recieve a discount from them. In a manner of speaking ofcourse.

With online stores it's easier to exist. People may know about one, and not the other.
Andromeda- 04-09-2006
This was actually the first time I've met someone who didn't know about Right Stuf.

I didn't know about it, and usually shy away from online stores, because I can generally get it cheaper from Best Buy, plus I had a bad experience once where I didn't recieve what I ordered ($50 just gone). I do sometimes order from Amazon however.

The only place I have ordered from Online is Right Stuf. I only order when they have really cool deals, like 30% off TokyoPop manga. Or buy one get one half off. I think their TokyoPop one they are running now.

Yeah, that's why sometimes i shy away from stores like that. And the shipping costs as well. Alot of places tend to inflate shipping, just to make a profit. But it's not like we have much of a choice, since there aren't many stores (other than Best Buy), that are willing to give us a reasonable price.

You also have to take into account that they have to buy shipping supplies, hence the word, "Handling". There's not just the cost to mail it, but how and what you mail it with.
