Phantom Memory Kurau Vol 1: Between Two Worlds
Phantom Memory Kurau Vol 1: Between Two Worlds by Andromeda It is 2100AD and the moon has been colonized. One scientist does the worst thing possible. He forgets his daughter, Kurau’s, 12th birthday. How cruel can he be. Hoping to smooth things over with her, he asks if she’d like to go with him to the lab. She quickly agrees thinking that if this is how she’s going to be able to spend some quality time with him, then so be it. It’s just the two of them in this family now and they have to find all the quality time they can together between work and school. The day seems like it will be a fun day. Kurau gets to see her father work and she’s packed the most splendid lunch ever for the two of them to share. But things go bad when the project her father works on goes beyond its capacity. Two bright orbs of golden light break free from the containment area, one striking Kurau in the chest, her body absorbing the light. The light is known as a binary alien life form called the Rynax and is now fused with Kurau’s body. Using her body, the Rynax takes into it the other light, it’s pair. Dismayed by this, Kurau’s father wants the Rynax to leave his daughter’s body. Alas though, it can’t leave until it’s pair becomes strong again, agreeing that it will leave if he can find a way for the two of them to live together. Until then, he must accept that this is his daughter. 2110 – Earth Using her superhuman abilities as a Rynax, Kurau becomes a mercenary agent as she still waits for her pair to wake up. Finally after ten long years, it does, taking the form of what Kurau looked like at the age of twelve and is given the name Christmas. But just when Kurau finds happiness again things start falling apart around her. For years Kurau’s father claimed her to be dead, but the GPO know differently and now they want to get their hands on her like any government agency would considering her abilities. But they aren’t the only ones that have been watching her. An ex GPO agent gone mercenary agent has been watching her as well for a client. After finding this out, Kurau and Christmas must now flee the city and start over in a new one when she uses her powers in the open for them all to see. Now in this new city, will she be able to do her job as a mercenary agent without using her Rynax abilities? I found the first episode to be a bit boring, but you have to have some sort of beginning to introduce the main character adequately and to give you some sort of idea as to the plot. Once you get past it to the second episode though, you fall right into what’s going on and by the third episode, you’re caught up into it and want to see more. Along with loving the smooth and clean animation, the soundtrack fit perfectly for every scene that had music. The ending theme has an ethereal feeling to it that suits the main character and her sister. The opening theme has a lovely upbeat sound to it. I could see me owning this soundtrack. One other thing I like about this anime is that the main character isn’t some fourteen-year-old magical girl. She’s an adult. That's nice that the main character is finally an adult. Pretty much all anime is pre-teen, or teen based.

Yeah, I thought of you when it showed a 22 year old and had to throw that little bit in.
