I recently picked this series up in thin pack because i realized that my selection of "Magical girl" anime was severly lacking. For the most part I am not a magical girl fan, but since I run an anime room every year I figured I should have at least a few :D I had no idea on what sort of anime this was other then a magical girl before buying it. I was pretty surprized at this anime, it was at its roots a magical girl love story, but it had enough elements and twists in that I did not find myself thinking "oh look there is the heroines savoir right on que, que the evil bad guy, hey look its a 5 min transfomation scene I think I will get a drink now" One of the things I think I liked the best about this anime was that the main heroine was a very strong willed and independant female (no i am not a femenist its just a nice change from the boy crazy scatter brains of most magical girl stuff). Another thing i enjoyed was that just when you think you figured something out about the bad guy in the series they throw something in there that makes you care about the bad guy and makes you symathize with them. Anyway, all in all I really enjoyed the series and thought it was worth the $30 or so I spend on it to add to my collection. -Quickie

The thin pack has 3 DvD's with 13 eps total...I was wrong on the price it was $23.95 at best buy :D

That's a sweet deal. Sounds interesting and something I'd like to see.

"The main heroine was a very strong willed and independent female" I don't really like animes that go overboard with this type of girl, nor do I really like the ones that have the boy crazy girls. Both extremes tend to be annoying after a while. I prefer a more balanced girl. She's not afraid of the feminine side or being stern when needed. Those make the best female characters IMO.

Pretear was too "mahou shoujo" formulaic for my tastes....Not a bad series, but there wasn't much in the way of memorable.

Bought the boxset, watched it once, re-sold it. Didn't hate it, just wasn't something I paticularly cared for. Thought the whole "preteing" (is that spelled right?) thing was rather weird.

I think the options in the poll are not enough. Though I selected "Seen it, didn't care for it", I am more "Seen it, thought it was alright." I personally think that this anime could have been longer (more character development). It pretty much rushed to the climax, and BOOM happy ending. If the series was to be longer, then the place where: CENSORED SPOILER: Mr. X betrayed the group and wugnot. END CENSORED SPOILER could have been much later in the series so that anime would be on such a down note.

I showed this to my anime club, and they absolutely loved it. Much squealing and enjoyment was had. Me... I liked it enough to buy the three-pak a while ago at a convention. I liked the manga better, though. DEFINITELY worth a read.
