Princess Tutu
Princess Tutu: Vol 2 Is There Such Things As Happy Endings? by Andromeda Continue Duck's fairytale adventure with this second volume of Princess Tutu. In this volume, Duck is faced with the question, does the Prince really want his heart shards back? Is she doing this just for herself or is it something that he wants? She must decide if she's doing the right thing or not amidst all the turmoil. Now that he has some of his feelings back, even the Mytho is questioning it, questioning what he feels, questioning the things he feels for those close to him, questioning Princess Tutu's presence. Is Princess Tutu a threat or someone trying to help him? To the one closest to the Prince, Fakir, Princess Tutu is ruining everything he's trying to accomplish by controlling the confused dancer Mytho. And just who is Fakir and what is his role in the story, "The Prince and The Crow". He definitely knows more than he's letting on. Fakir believes that it is better that Mytho's heart never be restored, and what he has should be scattered once again. In the end, will he be successful in stopping Princess Tutu from returning the shards and removing the one's she has already returned? Long ago, there was a warrior. In order to protect his friend, the warrior had to take his friend's life. Long ago, there was a sword. This sword had continued to fight for peace, yet realized, that to protect the peace, it had no choice but to kill the one who wielded it, and thus, took its master's life. The warrior and the sword had to do what they did, but was that really what they ought to have done? But this isn't the only problem Princess Tutu has to face now. The closer her and the Prince becomes, the stronger a darker force seems to surround them until finally appearing before them. Just as the Prince starts to realize his true feelings for Princess Tutu, the Crow Princess Kraehe interferes. She has eyes for the Prince and will do whatever she can to get in between him and Princess Tutu. So cold is the Crow Princess. She wants the Prince, but doesn't desire him. Desire is a feeling and she seems to have none. And what of Rue? What of her love for Mythos? She tells Duck that she hasn't even begun to love Mythos as much as she can. But she's also confused. There seems to be things happening to her that she doesn't recall. Now she's questioning just who she is.... and how did she get one of the Mytho's heart shards? Will Duck quit being Princess Tutu and leave the story unfinished? The art is still as beautiful as ever, like a wonderful painting that you'd see hanging in an art gallery of some museum. The colors are soft, warm, inviting. The classical music adds to the beauty as well, bringing about the memories of the classical ballets they are taken from. It's a wonderful mix of familiar fairytales bringing forth this new fairytale that Duck, Mytho, Fakir, and Rue are creating.

I've seen a lot of this, and I can't really say that the art is that great. It's not bad, but not to my liking. I suppose that's a very subjective thing. As for the story it's appealing enough, and if you manage to watch enough of the episodes you can get drawn into it. It's one of those anime's that doesn't really excite me, but is good enough that I'd probably select it over some others. It's interesting that the characters take the form of animals similar to Fruits Basket. It's strange however that none of them except duck seem to remember when they're in their animal form. What this means is that just about 100% of the time everyone is human. So why do they not spaz out about the fact their dance instructor is a cat? And if they're not spazing out about the cat then I wonder why duck gets so freaked out when she's a duck?

Have you seen the animal that's in love with the cat? The first volume was much better than the second one.

Hmm...I don't think so or maybe I have, but can't remember it. It's been a long time since I've seen the last one.
