PSP V.S. Nintendo DS : Which is better Just asking, which handheld system do you think is better out of these two, the psp or the ds. Me, I pick the psp.

The PSP isn't doing as well as it was hyped up to be, and it's lack of really good (DS killer) games isn't really helping, so i'm going with the DS.

I haven't played a PSP yet, so I can't say, and I really haven't played my DS much... no money to buy games and I don't have many GBA games... cause lack of money and I only play things once and then sell them.

I don't own a PSP mainly because it's way to expensive. I do however own a DS, and I have 6 DS games for it now.
These include:
Mario Kart DS
Mario 64 DS
Animal Crossing: Wild World
Ridge Racer DS
Urbz: Sims in the City
Metroid Prime Hunters: First Hunt (demo)
I can safely say that I did enjoy playing all of them, but like most people Mario Kart DS, Animal Crossing: Wild World, and Mario 64 DS are the best among them.
Some of my favorite things about the DS are it's touch screen which allows innovative gameplay which I've seen in use on most of the games, however Ridge Racer DS, and Metroid Prime Hunters: First Hunt put it to use best out of my collection.
Anyway, it's really a matter of taste, and that's all that matters. If you do happen to own a DS though, I'm ready to take you on in Mario Kart DS ;)

To me, I think the DS has alot of childish games, and the dual screen thing isnt realy kicking that much. The only good thing I see about the DS is if you dont have a game, and you friend have a game you wanna play. You 2 can still play with out you having it. Other than that it isnt good at all.

So if a game happens to be horrid beyond all reasonable doubt, and it's a PSP game, and it's a rated "M" game, using your logic about how Adult games are better than what you would call "Kiddie games", would you go with the Adult themed game just because it's an Adult themed game?

I guess you just don't realize how addictive a childish game can be. *ahem* Animal Crossing *ahem*

I'm not saying that it dosent have any good games, I'm just saying that most of the games are just boring to me.

Heh, you should see this guy. He's a freak for his Nintendo DS. XD
Anyway, if i get a PSP, i probably only get like 2-3 games for it, since i don't see many titles that impress me. However, i'm not going to jump the gun at the moment, since this is the first Fiscal year for the DS and PSP, so things could happen, but then again, Nintendo is dominating the Handheld market for a good reason.

I'm not a freak. I just really enjoy playing some of my current games. I love playing Mario Kart DS against people, and if I can't do that then Animal Crossing: Wild World keeps me tied up in single player.
I'm looking forward to Tetris DS, and Metroid Prime Hunters. They are slated for launch at the end of March. They have a lot of games that are out or either coming out that I want to buy, but I have to pick and choose carefully because I don't have the money to get everything.
And Zero, he didn't say anything about M rated games being the only good games and non-childish.

Tetris DS! I want!
He's right though, the DS does have a lot of ... hmm... lack of a better word, "childish" games. Went to the in-laws in January and had my DS. I pulled it out and the first thing my sister-in-law says, "Hey Ashley, look, she's got one of those new Nintendos." Ashley being my niece. "Do you have NintenDogs?" I probably had the look of, "You've got to be shittin me" written on my face.

Relax. I'm just playing around. And yes, he didn't flat out said it. But it is implied is it not?

No.. All he said was that the DS has a lot of Childish games. Nintendo has a tendency to play more towards the younger generations.

Here's what he said:

This implies a negative opinion of the DS. While this:
The only good thing I see about the DS is if you dont have a game, and you friend have a game you wanna play. You 2 can still play with out you having it.
implies a positive opinion of the DS. So to imply a negative opinion about an aspect of the DS (IE: The games) because of it's choice of theme when it comes to the games it releases, simply says that you do not like that particular aspect of it. Not necessarily hating it, but IMO it's swinging along those lines. Anyway, i don't see any problems with Nintendo going with those types of games. I usually have more fun with lighthearted games than serious ones. Not that i don't like more mature games, but there's just something about Nintendo's games that gives it such a fun factor.

Guardian-Sora, I bet you didn't expect to get these kind of replies LoL.
Anyway, I would try to avoid framing it as childish games, because that might prevent you from getting something that you may find extremely fun.
Take Mario Kart DS for example. It's considered childish because of the characters you use to play the game, but I must say it's one hell of a racing game. I'd rather play it then any Need for Speed game any day, and that's not because it's childish, but because it's so much fun.
Oh, and Animal Crossing: Wild World is another one. I got it mainly because I wanted a game that I thought my girl-friend would like playing. I wanted her to get a Nintendo DS, but she's been against it because she doesn't like playing games etc.. etc.. but after playing AC:WW she now wants a DS, and I'm even hooked on the childish game.
What I'm trying to say is .... get a DS so I can whoop up on you in Mario Kart DS
