www >>Gaming >>PSP V.S. Nintendo DS : Which is better
Zero0079- 03-02-2006
I would probably get both in reality. As a matter of fact, the PSP seems to have Irregular Hunter X, which is a game i've sorta been waiting to come out since Megaman X5 came out. By that i mean because of the Plotholes that the storyline in general contained. Also, if anyone doesn't mind me asking (didn't mean to hijack this thread), but does anyone think that NES, SNES, GBA or any kind of Nintendo Emulation on the PSP should be considered as a full blown legit feature for the PSP?

He whoops me with Mario Kart DS. Frankly, it's not my type of game. I prefer games like Final Fantasy and strategies. The one thing I did like about Mario Kart is that I didn't need to the game to play with Body Organ.

No.. All he said was that the DS has a lot of Childish games. Nintendo has a tendency to play more towards the younger generations.
Here's what he said:
To me, I think the DS has alot of childish games, and the dual screen thing isnt realy kicking that much
This implies a negative opinion of the DS. While this:
The only good thing I see about the DS is if you dont have a game, and you friend have a game you wanna play. You 2 can still play with out you having it.
implies a positive opinion of the DS. So to imply a negative opinion about an aspect of the DS (IE: The games) because of it's choice of theme when it comes to the games it releases, simply says that you do not like that particular aspect of it. Not necessarily hating it, but IMO it's swinging along those lines. Anyway, i don't see any problems with Nintendo going with those types of games. I usually have more fun with lighthearted games than serious ones. Not that i don't like more mature games, but there's just something about Nintendo's games that gives it such a fun factor.
You totally went the opposite direction of the conversation with this, like you forgot what you had said... <_<

I love the smell of napalm in the morning.
Anyway, I really like role playing games too. I want to get all the FF remakes that are coming out for GBA since the DS can play those games.
It was fun playing you guy's. I think pinkrabbit might have liked Mario Kart DS a bit better. At least that's what I'm hoping. To actually have someone who might be a local opponent would be great.
I only have two other games which we can play without everyone needing a cartridge, and that's Ridge Racer DS (another racing game) and Metroid Prime Hunters: First Hunt (the demo).
I do want to pick up a few puzzle games like Meteos, Bomberman, and Tetris DS eventually.

Hmm... OK you know what? I'm going to refrain from posting anything that will further bring about a WWIII on this thread. But, IMO i like both systems since they both have certain qualities to them. Granted, Nintendo DS wasn't meant to compete with the PSP. The new gameboy (Not the DS, the Gameboy, which are two different systems developed by the same company) thats in the works is meant for sheer competition with the PSP. The DS was basically something of a side project that Nintendo just wanted to throw in there, just for the sake of throwing it in there.
Here's the link where i found this info from:
http://www.g4tv.com/xplay/features/51374/Verdict_Sony_PSP_vs_Nintendo_DS.html
Here's the quote from the Article:
"The PSP's real competition will be the next iteration of the Game Boy, which is currently in the concept stages. And if rumors swirling around the industry are true, the PSP will have a tough fight on its hands when that day comes. But until then, the Nintendo DS is nothing more than a decent idea being used as a stop-gap to limit the sales of the Sony PSP until the next Game Boy is ready. But after people get Sony's slick machine in their hands, I question just how well the tactic will work."
Yes, i know the article is a bit dated, but still, Nintendo is known to dominate the Handheld market for a reason. And to make others think that the DS was all they have at the moment to just end up catching everyone off guard in the next, could prove to be an interesting tactic, if they still decided to go with this tactic.

lol, yeah, I think she enjoyed it a whole lot better than I did. Heck, I wasn't even paying attention to when each race started!
Have you seen the pictures of the new DS?
