Sexy Commando
Anyone here seen Sexy Commando? If you don't know what it is about, heres a bit of information i got from Boxtorrents: Fumiya "Fu-min" Okometsubu is an exchange student who comes to a Wakame Highschool in his Junior year. He`s a typical, shy nervous little boy but he is determined to make new friends and start a new life. He starts a plan to make 100 new friends. Things don`t go quite according to plan though, as his first day at school also happens to be the first day that Masaru Hananakajima comes back to school. Rumor has it that he left school for the past 3 months to live in the woods and practice some sort of secret martial art. He also happens to be one of the nicest people you`ll ever meet...and a complete weirdo who lives in this constant black hole of strangeness. Through a twist of fate, the two become "friends" (the twist of fate being Fu-min getting dragged around by Masaru constantly). Masaru starts a new club at school to demonstrate his secret new martial art- "Sexy Commando", and recruits kids from around the school. First is Fu-min, who gets haplessly drawn in. Next is Machahiko Kondo, a nice, honest boy who has this "thing" for being as manly as possible. After that, they run into Tsuyoshi Isobe, a boy who wants to be the strongest person in the world, and who isn`t dissuaded by the fact that his body is built like balsa wood (his nickname is "Kyasharin", which basically means "living bones"). Together, they have many bizarre adventures - the Baseball Game of Honor, the Alien Camping Trip, the National Sexy Commando Tournament, Going to Masaru`s house, the Kidnapping of Meso, and tons more. Anyway, this anime is F*cking crazy, but funny though. The Anime seems to be pretty dated, but that should be the last things on the viewers mind. So has anyone else seen this?

Yes! I love this crazy little series of shorts! I have an old VHS of the first 9 eps. that's pretty worn out; it's at least 5 years old and has been shown at several cons. I even have a cel of the karate team captain with background......

Awsome. Wonder how much that is worth right now. Too bad this series isn't more popular. I think that Sexy Commando goes along the ranks of Excel Saga, Azumanga Daioh, FLCL, Cromartie High, and maybe Abenobashi as one of my favorite random comedy anime.

Glad to see that someone other myself thinks the same thing; of the friends that I have shown it to, only one actually liked it. Oh well. My friend Ria found it for download last year, but I have to find out if she downloaded it or not. And I don't know what site she found it at.....I'll be sure to ask her this weekend. A couple of other bizzare series of shorts are Pyugyruu, Rizelmine and Ebichu. All are completely whacked. Ebichu expecially...never forget at Otakon a couple of years ago a packed video room of 500 or so all chanting "Hamster Sex"......

Haha! Hamster Sex! I probably wouldn't like this then... I disliked Cromartie High and didn't care for FLCL or Excel Saga. Those left me sitting there with the WTF look on my face. The one thing I liked about Cromartie High was that one dude's mohawk that kept moving ... trippy.

I loved Cromartie High. Although i didn't see all the episodes (just most of them), but i'll probably buy the rest of the DVD's later on. I guess those animes are the kind that some people get or not when it comes to sence of humor.

I actually own the DVDs to this (the original Japanese DVDs). Its a pretty good series and is actually quite dated (I perfer older stuff anyways), but the end totally sucks... Personally, I didnt care for Cromartie High either, but Ebichu was a favorite whenever I would bring fansubs to the local game store (which is no more) during anime night.... heck, all I had to do was play the latest Ebichu episode during lan night and I think everyone appeared behing me watching it with me.
