If you haven’t heard about it yet… where have you been?! The buzz is around the net about the upcoming live action Speed Racer movie due to be released May 2008. Some of the Hollywood’s well known actor’s and actress’ will be playing some of the key roles, like Susan Sarandon as Mom Racer, John Goodman as Pops Racer, and Christina Ricci as Trixie. And we can’t forget the main character of the story, Speed, played by Emilie Hirsch. After watching the movie trailer, mot may say that the movie is real cheesy looking and won’t want to touch it with a ten foot pole when it comes out. Frankly, I think it’s going to be great. If this had been done in Japan, a lot of people’s opinion would be different. Once it hit the internet for download and subtitled by some fans, it would be downloaded, watched, and raved about. If someone had decided to make a brand new anime version of Speed Racer like they did Cute Honey, it would have been like this. The new movie looks like it came from a new version. Don’t despair my fellow fans! Give this a chance!
