hi my name is chris and friennds and i are trying to get a con going around 2010 in columbia. i would love to get advice from those who have run a con. becuase i serouisly will look up to those of you who have and call you sensei. i would love help. i would really love to have some volunteers who would like the same to happen. i think the more people we get together the better the chances. so far we have ideas for where to have it held. and a list of possible sponsors. i will post the ideas for sponsors later. if you are intrested respond back please. you can also email me back at animeconwiz@yahoo.com i also hold a message board there. i also have a myspace account if you want to give suggestions there please just look under chris lorick and make a friend request, i will add you. well i await some respomnses and i will keep posting. i can also answer some questions. but i am new to this. be gentle. :oops:

hello again and good evining. today i have found a venue. i am definetley going to get this con running by late spring/early summer of 2010. we have come up with a couple of ideas for the con's name. if you would like to offer any help or have advice, please email me at animeconwiz@yahoo.com or pm me here for questions. i will be back on here next week to post any new info. i will do this as often as i can. the two names we have for the con so far is PAL-CON or PALMETTO ANIME CON. if you guys have good suggestions for a name drop one on here. our groups name is chibi dragon. we have been planning panels and events and we have a theme for our staff. so thats it. i hope to hear from all of you intrested.

hello everyone and good morning. today i just wanted to share some of our ideas on how we are hoping to ge this con in movement. as i stated the last time we have a possible canidate for a venue. belive me this place is great for the simple fact it has been recently renovated. well in our meeting on thursda, one of our fellow members came up with a graet idea. we are gonna ask the city of coulumia for a grant. we are going to propose the paln to them by letting them know this con would bring in alot of tourists and travelers from other states.(come on we know this is true for those of us whom have gone to cons, NC, TN, FL etc.) so we also have started letting online anime stores know about our possible con of course for the sake of them vending a the dealers room. we are going to ask local comic book stores to sponsor us and pomote us. i cmae up with the idea of passing the word to anime clubs in high schools and colleges. so if you fellow otaku are reading this and belong to an anime club plaese pass word to your fellow geeks. yes i said geeks, becuase im geek and proud of it. lol. im going to post the ideas for our panels and con events in a little bit today. please feel free to make any suggestions or comment on them, we want to hear from fellow otaku. well thats that for now. so the panels and events will be posted shortly. have a nice day, and may the honor of greyskull enlighten your day.

hey here are the ideas for our panels and events (panel ideas): hentai panel, yaoi panel, manga panel, game panel, rpg/dnd panel,web comic panel,japanese food panel,kisuke(kinono nad yukada wearing)panel, costuming panel,art(inking,drawing,coloing techniques,etc.)panel,avatar panel. before i contiune on i want to let you know that we are planning to make our staff do an avatar theme. the con staff will be dressed up as thier favorite character from the show.we will have a few avatar themed evnts we just have not planned too much around that yet. (ideas for con events thus far): game room,cosplay con-*test*-('"), anime survivor,avtar conts-*test*-('")s, anime trivia, anime poetry, karaoke copsplay style, delaers rooms of course. we are going to keep planning more ideas so keep your eyes peeled. and if you have any good ideas for panels and events plaese post some we are listening. also to let you know we have been talking about guest but that is going to be awhile we only have ideas of who to have. here is a small lists. cosplaying kefka(check him out on youtube he is hillarious) man faye sailor bubba we also want to get some web comic artists. at least one or two voice actors, if you want suggest some guests plaese do. the one voice actor we would like to have is johnny young bosch. well that is that for now i hope all you fans have some great ideas, what am i talking about you do you are fellow otaku. well that is all for now peace and have a great day. may the honor of greyskull enlighten your day.

Hmm.. for an anime con you pick an American Cartoon to do your theme from. Not bad since it has a really big following. Loved it myself. As for guests... Man Faye? Sailor Bubba? Seriously? Not an attraction I'd be busting the doors down to see, personally. As for voice actors, I love Chris Sabat. He's funny. He did my voicemail message for my telephone.

hello and good evening to everyone. so we are going to plan to start having offical con meetings and we want anyone intrested in being apart of our con comitte to come. we also want those who have suggestions and ideas that would be for this con. we have not found an offical place, but if you have any ideas of where we could hold them please post some. our meeting probably will be held on saturdays when we get it going. so pleease post any good palces to hold a meeting. so far we have been thinking about asking the main librbary downtown and a hotel up in my town in blythewood it has a decently sized conference room. we have come up with two more ideas for the cons name. here they are. hello everyone i have an update today. we have our first sponsor and our first guest. a local comic book store in our area has decided to sponsor us.The stores name is Kel-Rin Comics. we paln to also ask the big place, Heroes and Dragons if they would like to sponsor us. The guest who will attend us is the coplaying Kefka i mentioned before. he is charging us nothing and that is awesome!!! if have not heard of him got to youtube and type check out his vids, they are freakin funny. ok we came uo with another idea for a name. O.S.A.K.A.,SC it stands for Otaku Survival Anime Konvention At South Carolina. we like this idea becuase it is a double entendre. because in Japan Osaka is in the south. And so are we.And yes i know that convention is spelled with a "C" but if those fools Midway could spell combat with K and get away with it, so can we. Like i said before all of you fellow otaku out there who have suggestions or ideas please oh please submit some. do not be afraid i want some feedback. like i keep saying we would appreciate the help.
